The Yellow Blood Parrot is a colourful hybrid cichlid known for its rounded body shape, expressive face, and vibrant yellow to golden colouration. Its unusual appearance and interactive behaviour make it a popular centrepiece fish for larger freshwater aquariums.

Yellow Blood Parrots are intelligent, active fish that appreciate spacious aquariums with strong filtration, open swimming room, and sturdy décor that provides secure territories. They can become territorial as they mature but are generally suitable with similarly sized, robust tank mates when given enough space.

Recommended For: Intermediate aquarists and larger tropical aquariums

Temperature Range: 24–28°C
pH Range: 6.5–8.0
Recommended School Size: Single specimen, pair, or group in a suitably large aquarium
Compatibility: Semi-aggressive; best with similarly sized, robust fish
