Aquarium Placement
Purple & Green Acan Lords perform best in lower-light areas of the reef.
Place the colony on the sandbed or stable lower rockwork where it receives gentle, indirect flow. Avoid intense lighting and strong direct current, as this can cause the fleshy polyps to remain retracted.
Feeding
Although photosynthetic, Acan Lords respond extremely well to supplemental feeding.
Suitable foods include:
- Mysis shrimp
- LPS coral pellets
- Enriched brine shrimp
- Finely chopped marine foods
- Dedicated coral foods
Target feeding once or twice per week can help support healthy tissue, strong polyp inflation and continued colony growth.
Give It Some Space
Acan Lords are generally manageable in a mixed reef but can extend short sweeper tentacles, particularly at night.
Leave a few inches of clearance around the colony to prevent contact with neighbouring corals and to provide room for future growth.

For best results, maintain stable reef conditions around:
Calcium: 400–450 ppm
Alkalinity: Approximately 8–10 dKH
Magnesium: Approximately 1250–1400 ppm
Salinity: Approximately 1.025–1.026
Consistency is more important than continually chasing exact numbers.
