The Joker Morph Torch Coral (Euphyllia glabrescens) is a premium LPS coral prized for its vibrant contrasting colouration, long flowing tentacles and impressive movement in the reef aquarium.
Joker Torch morphs are particularly eye-catching under blue-spectrum reef lighting, where their fluorescent tones can become extremely vivid. Combined with the constant movement of the extended polyps, this variety makes an excellent feature coral for established reef systems and Euphyllia collections.

Aquarium Placement
Joker Morph Torch Coral performs best under moderate lighting with gentle, variable water movement.
The tentacles should sway naturally through the current rather than being blasted continuously in one direction. Excessively strong flow can irritate the fleshy tissue and prevent the coral from fully extending.
Mid-level rockwork generally provides an excellent balance of lighting and flow.
Joker Morph Colour
The defining feature of the Joker Morph is its high-contrast fluorescent colouration.
Under blue reef lighting, the tentacles and tips can display strong contrasting tones that give this variety a distinctive appearance compared with more traditional green or gold Torch Corals.
Colour intensity and pattern will naturally vary between individual heads.
Feeding
Torch Corals receive most of their energy through photosynthesis but can benefit from occasional supplemental feeding.
Suitable foods include:
- Mysis shrimp
- LPS coral pellets
- Finely chopped marine foods
- Brine shrimp
- Dedicated coral preparations

Give It Plenty of Space
Torch Corals are aggressive LPS corals and can extend long stinging tentacles well beyond their skeletal base.
Allow generous clearance from neighbouring corals and account for the coral’s fully extended size when choosing its permanent position.

Avoid rapid swings in water chemistry, particularly alkalinity, salinity and temperature.
