Made from highly porous inert ceramic, BIOMAX provides a large surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonise, helping maintain effective biological filtration and stable aquarium water quality.
The ceramic rings contain a network of tiny pores, channels and tunnels that allow large populations of beneficial bacteria to establish throughout the media. These bacteria play an essential role in processing fish waste and supporting the aquarium nitrogen cycle.
