The Dragon Soul Favia Fragment is a striking LPS coral known for its deep base colour, vibrant contrasting centres and distinctive textured growth pattern.
Favia corals have been popular in reef aquariums for decades thanks to their impressive colouration, manageable growth and relatively forgiving care requirements. The Dragon Soul variety takes this a step further with intensely coloured oral discs that stand out beautifully under reef aquarium lighting.

Aquarium Placement
Dragon Soul Favia is best positioned in the lower to middle sections of the aquarium where it receives moderate lighting and indirect water movement.
Avoid placing it directly in strong flow, as excessive movement can prevent the fleshy polyps and feeding tentacles from fully extending.
As the coral grows, it will gradually encrust across the surrounding rockwork, developing a textured, rounded colony.
Feeding
Although photosynthetic, Favia can benefit from occasional supplemental feeding.
Suitable foods include:
- Mysis shrimp
- Enriched brine shrimp
- Small LPS coral foods
- Finely chopped marine foods
Favia often extends feeding tentacles after the lights go down or when food enters the water, making target feeding particularly easy.
Give It Some Space
Favia corals can produce sweeper tentacles capable of stinging neighbouring corals, particularly at night.
Allow a generous amount of clearance around the fragment and keep faster-growing or sensitive corals outside its reach.

Eastern Marine recommends maintaining stable reef conditions, including approximately:
Calcium: 420–440 ppm
Alkalinity: 8–9 dKH
Stable salinity, temperature and nutrient levels are also important for maintaining strong growth and colour.
