Australian Elegance Coral – Medium
The Australian Elegance Coral (Catalaphyllia jardinei) is a spectacular LPS coral known for its large, fleshy polyp, long flowing tentacles and impressive presence in a reef aquarium. These medium-sized specimens are a great option for reef keepers wanting an established Elegance Coral without committing to an XXL-sized colony.
Elegance Corals combine bold colour with constant movement, with their extended tentacles gently swaying in the current. Once settled and fully expanded, they can quickly become a standout feature in the lower areas of a reef aquarium.

Australian Elegance Corals are best placed on the sandbed or a stable, low position where their fleshy tissue has plenty of room to fully expand. Gentle, indirect water movement is ideal – avoid blasting the coral with strong flow.
Give your Elegance plenty of clearance from neighbouring corals. Their long tentacles are capable of delivering a strong sting and can reach considerably further once fully extended.
While primarily photosynthetic, occasional target feeding with appropriately sized meaty foods such as mysis shrimp can help support healthy growth and condition.
As with other LPS corals, maintaining stable alkalinity, calcium and magnesium alongside good overall water quality will provide the best environment for long-term success.
