2HR Aquarist APT Start is an all-in-one substrate booster and starter bacteria system designed to give new planted aquariums a stronger foundation from day one. It combines substrate enrichment with beneficial bacteria to improve nutrient availability around plant roots while supporting the development of a stable biological filtration system.
APT Start is especially effective when used beneath aquasoil, but it can also improve inert substrates such as sand or gravel by making the root zone more plant-friendly. The included bacterial component helps establish the biological processes responsible for breaking down ammonia, nitrite, and organic waste as the aquarium matures.

How to Use
- Open the main pouch and remove the blue sachet containing dormant bacteria.
- Spread the contents of the main pouch evenly across the bottom of the empty aquarium.
- Cover with your chosen aquarium substrate and complete your aquascape.
- Fill the aquarium with water.
- Open the blue sachet and add the beneficial bacteria directly to the aquarium water.
- Allow the aquarium to establish and complete its cycling process before adding fish.
Important Considerations
✔ For best results, use a substrate depth of approximately 4cm or greater
✔ Can improve inert substrates, but does not turn sand or gravel into a complete aquasoil
✔ Always confirm ammonia and nitrite are at safe levels before introducing fish
